I still don't plan to post much for a while. Things are going well. I feel like we are getting some order back to life and I feel like I can breathe again. At least a little.
In any case, a quick moment this afternoon compelled me to come and share. Maybe one of you could use the chuckle.
I have been going through piles and piles and piles and piles of paper, clutter, craft supplies, books and just junk. Since Parker's birth we've lived in survival mode and the basics were aiming high. That has meant other stuff has just ended up in boxes and piles in the basement, upstairs, the kids bedrooms. It's been a month of slowly trying to dig out. (and for anyone trying to visually imagine this, NO it is NOT as bad as anything you'd see on a reality show. It would be enough to give certain neatnik friends a small heart attack though). Yesterday I went through several boxes of kids artwork from 2005. Um, yeah, stuff's been sitting around a while.
Today was a pile of much more recent artwork. Most were drawings from the past week or two that were piled on the kids desks. I came across this drawing...
I said "who drew this? Is this one of Aaron's drawings?"
Before Aaron could answer, Parker spoke up and excitedly said, "Yes, yes, yes it is Aaron's drawing. It's his drawing of Mick-Chicken that he drew for me. Didn't he do a good job? It looks JUST like Mick-chicken does it?"
Hmmm.
Good thing we aren't planning a trip to Disneyland/Disneyworld anytime soon. There's still time to brush up on character names and recognition.
While we are at it, maybe we should work on knowing the difference between a chicken and a mouse??

So glad to see you!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Parker. Aaron did a great job! Now as long as he knows which to eat - chicken or mouse - I think we are ok.
LOL! Nice to "see" you! :-)
