I often lament that they are growing too fast.
I wish at times these days could last forever.
Sometimes though,
Sometimes this growing up and taking on more responsibilities can be a good thing.
Yay, for sons (and daughters) that can take over the mowing!
*Jerald is older than Rocklin, but for several reasons, (one being severe allergy to fresh cut grass) mowing is not in Jerald's future. However, Rocklin recently asked to learn and he hopes to completely take over the mowing soon.
Go Rock! It is neat to see them taking on responsibilities! Like Jerald, I'm allergic to the freshly mowed grass. Ken always has to shower after mowing before I can be near him.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how fast they grow up and yet, it's exciting to see the mature ability to take on responsibilities.
None of mine mow yet, but our yard is a nightmare for mowing with strange configuration and sprinkler heads that break if not handled just right...
Jack is only 6, but one thing's for sure - he would LOVE to drive a lawn mower. Well, he'd love to drive anything, but a car is outta the question. For now.
ReplyDelete@ Dell,
ReplyDeleteKev (now Rock) also need to shower after mowing because it bothers Jerald and I so badly. As for mowing, honestly, we would have waited another year or two. He so badly wanted to give it a try that we decided to go for it.
@ Brenda,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've read yours a bit the last week or so and I think Jack and my Aaron have a lot in common, besides being about the same age. Out of five children, only two of them stand a chance of driving anything in the near (or not so near) future!
That's great!!! I am the lawn mower in the family most weeks, and I have to say...I LOVE it!! But it was even more fun in Delaware when we had the riding lawn mower. Talk about an adventure. I am sure you won't have to twist his arm to ride around on the tractor! :)
