Beach time!

It was surprisingly warm here this weekend. Yesterday afternoon, my never spontaneous hubby said, "we should go to the beach". Not exactly what I had planned for the afternoon, but I love it when he does stuff on a whim like that. It was breezy and the water was cold, but it was still a fun time. We enjoyed watching the gulls and looking for shells and neat rocks to add to our collection.

What's the beach without getting wet? It really was too cold still, so we just let them get their feet wet for a few minutes.

An egg in my bed!

Last week, I discovered a raw egg in my bed. Thankfully, I spotted it BEFORE I plopped down on the bed. That would have been fun to clean up!
Upon inspection, I discovered it had a note written on it.

"I'm using this rounded way
because I didn't have time today
to tell you that I love you. Love, Jay"

Yep. I think he's a good egg. A keeper for sure!

Bad guy or Ballerina?

Which should a mama prefer her son to be?
I've shared before that Parker hates clothing. He has decided that he does like to cover up with towels, sheets, etc. Anything that is loose around his legs/waist. Today, he was playing and put on one of Mag's dresses just to be silly. He's not yet at an age where he realizes purple frilly dresses are for girls. He just thought it was funny because it's A) too big for him and B) his sisters clothes. He came out to me and said, "I a ballerina". I told him that boys aren't ballerina's and boys don't wear dresses. He thought for just a minute and then said, "ok. Den I jus' bad guy in a dress".
Here's hoping his aspirations aim a little higher in the near future. ;-)
